A demo of the European version of The Witcher has been released today! It features a large part of the Prologue and part of Act One. We encourage anyone who’s been on the fence about the game to check out the demo and to begin their adventures in the world of The Witcher.

In the next few days we will announce the release date for the long-awaited update of The Witcher, which will include fixes for several issues. We have been working hard on this patch since the game’s release and the day-one 1.1 patch. The most important changes include the reduction of loading and saving times, many improvements in saving/loading mechanics, as well as further improvement of game stability and removal of various bugs. Patch will be available for download from The Witcher registration page!

The Witcher is not slowing down even a bit, consequently getting great scores in print and online media in the last month. PC Gamer US has rated The Witcher for 90% along with an Editor’s Choice award, and a very positive video review has been posted by GameTrailers, where the game earned a score of 8.6/10. Even the fine folks at GamePro.com scored The Witcher a 4.5 out of 5 with an Editor’s Choice award, while SciFi.com offers up a tremendous rating of A+!

We are very pleased that renowned gaming websites, like Gamespy, Gameshark and ActionTrip are rating the game over 90% and also giving it the Editor’s Choice Award. And the English aren’t going to be left out, as PC Zone UK feels The Witcher is worthy of an 88% score. Here are some of the great review scores for The Witcher:
