Starting on the 8th of July, you’ll be able to download the next update for The Witcher, version 1.5.
The patch focuses mainly on removing troublesome DRM, allowing you to play the game without the disc, while providing additional hours of fun thanks to new adventures created by the fan community. Patch 1.5 is the next stage of The Witcher’s life, and is also a means of expressing our thanks to the modding community for their hard work ion creating the adventures. The update will also be included in forthcoming The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director’s Cut; more info on that product will be released shortly.
Patch 1.5 features:
Modifications: - copy securities (DRM) are removed
- playing the game no longer requires the game disc in the drive
- patch solves problems with EAX and blur
Additionally:
- 5 additional adventures made by the Witcher community: ‘Deceits’, ‘Blight of the Bogs’, ‘Wraiths of Quiet Hamlet’, ‘Wedding’, ‘Merry Witchmas’.
In order to install patch 1.5 correctly, you should have original Witcher game upgraded to 1.4 (enhanced edition).
Moreover, our website will be enriched with new graphic and music bonuses; also, a new section will appear, namely ‘Modifications’, which will enable you to download a mod to change the game’s difficulty level, created by Andrzej "Flash" Kwiatkowski. Gradually, new items will be issued there as well.

We just wanted to clear up some recent media reports concerning new projects being prepared by CD Projekt RED and Metropolis by noting that the news confirming the two games was a misunderstanding and is not true. The statement from Michał Kiciński published in the last issue of CD-Action magazine was a bit awkwardly edited, significantly changing its meaning. Below you’ll find Michał’s comment on the situation:
'The interview was edited by CD-Action without informing me, and after the changes the meaning of my answer concerning our studios’ future plans became significantly distorted. I realize I could have expressed myself more clearly; this is my mistake, and should not have happened, as I’ve been doing interviews for quite some time and I’m careful with such details. However, the fact is that the question was edited and accompanied with an editorial lead that is not a quote from my statement (and which directly speaks about The Witcher’s sequel), distorted the issue of next RED’s project and caused quite a big confusion. Regardless of whose fault it is (a bit of mine as well), I’d like to apologize for the confusion (and also for the fact that this response did not appear as quick, as it should have). As for the most interesting thing – namely our future projects – you’ll still need to wait for official statements.’

Dear Community
Welcome to our new volume of the Community News. We have to apologize that there were no Community News in May. This doesn't mean we didn't care or there was nothing going on in our community Witcherworld. All excitements are included in this doublepack of our Community News May and June volume.
A brief survey:

Yes, we know it’s been some time since we had the opportunity to release a new adventure for The Witcher created by our modding community. We are pleased to present “Entrapped”, the debut module from modding group “The Bards.” We bet you are wondering what kind of decisions Geralt has to deal with this time. Wonder no more:
Exhausted after a long journey through Temeria, the witcher arrives at a village which to be no different from any other in the region. All he wants is to spend a night in the nearby inn and set off in the morning… but suddenly he finds himself in serious danger. He’ll be trapped in the village and the way out won’t be easy...
Enjoy!
You can download the adventure here.
