Sry, but the search couidn't find anything but my problem. Think, the search has a problem, too.

Ok, here we go: Under ****** Vista I had no probs, to play the Witcher in the good old 1.1x Version. I had same problems to patch it to 1.4, though I stayed with 1.1. Now, as I said goodbye to Vista and stepped forward to Win 7, it is no more able, to play the witcher. The reinstall led me to a serious system warning about the "Tages Protection driver" and the game won't run. So I decided, to go for another try with the patches. The update-advisor on witcher.com led me to a polish download-site. With a lot of intuition power - my knowledge in polish speak is rather weak - I found the download button ... and hit it. I got a TWEE upgrade and tryed to install it. After a lot of klicking around, it says, that I have no speechpack. No one has told me, that I would need this and how it's name could be. After some try & error klicking links on the polish download site, I got a TWEE-english-language-pack. But that couldn't help me, because I have installed a german version.
A google search for "twee-german" led me to some torrent-files. I downloaded Azureus/Vuze, but there are no seeders (anymore?). How can I get the used files?

Congratulations on having the absolute worst patch system of any game I have EVER played.

Really should consider hiring some geek to create an automated patcher for you that will deal with all the stupid language pack / patch / registering bs.. cant be that hard

Petra the problem isn't the language packs, the person is stating that the language packs shouldn't have to be gotten and you should have to patch.

I just went through this patching process myself and I have to agree, it really is an annoying stupid patching system. I really hated having to register and I especially hated the fact that you made me use internet explorer (which I have made all but uninstalled on my system, so it caused lots of headaches).

The patching process really should be as simple as either:

* select auto patch ... wait for download ... wait for it to auto install ... play

or

* Download patch manually, install, play


Anything other than this is a huge pain in the @$$ and we shouldn't have to do it. I spent 3 hours trying to get it patched since the process had a number of issues. Now I am very tech savvy, I have graduated university with a dual bachelors of I.T and I found this unacceptably problematic. I paid for the game and I should enjoy the game without having to go through hours of nonsense just to get to play the most up to date version.

Now the game is 2 years old, isn't it about time you remove the registration check from all your patches? It would make for a much smoother customer experience instead of souring the initial experience with the game.

i use firefox, not once was i ever expected to use IE (shudder)

... and i was originally irked at being forced to sign up for this forum, but as you can see from my post count, i've had a lot of fun here and whatever pain you suffer during the patching is more than made up for in gameplay  :peace:

It does use internet explorer but just in an indirect way, you never actually have to see IE but if your settings aren't correct then you won't be able to register.

Now as for the gameplay making up for the lousy patching, that is bs. It is thinking like that which is why we get lousy systems to begin with, why make something better when they will just accept it? Imagine buying a DVD and having to spend two hours trying to register it before being able to watch it, you would be pretty pissed I imagine, why is it with games people are so willing to shrug off these incredibly bad experiences?The patching system was unacceptable and we should be vocal about it, let them know so they will be more willing to put some extra effort in on the sequel.

How the heck do you patch this game?

On the official website you can download patch 1.5 or 1.4 while on fileplanet, where I normally download patches, there's a base patch, a full patch, an enhanced full patch, and enhanced ultimate patch, a directors edition patch, and then if I figure this correct patch sequence out I have to do an EAX hotfix and a blood patch or were those included at some point in one of the patches?

I got it but never played it, should have just bought the steam edition when it was on sale.

It's not that hard  ;D follow this sequence:

-First install the game
-install EE patch
-install bonus adventure (side effects, price of neutrality...any other adventure you want to play and thta you can download from http://www.thewitcher.com/community/en/adventures/)
-download bonus contents and musics if you want
-install patch 1.5 (director's cut)
-enjoy

hey guys i installed The Witcher enhanced edition and played a few hours of it. I then installed the Blood Revival Patch, and am now wanting to install the full uncensored sex cards or whatever they are. can someone give me a good step by step way to do it. (im not good wiht comptuers)

ps. i downloaded the sex cards or whatever and it said extact them to the witcher/data when when i went "extract to specified folder" it said :error, cannot create cs_sex etc etc for all of them
