The Witcher Enhanced Edition - CDPR asks community!

The launch of The Witcher: Enhanced Edition is coming in September, and part of that event is the release of the new retail version, with a ton of additional features and elements, that will take place of standard game version.

We remember the promise we made, so of course, anyone who has registered a copy of the game will be able to download a free update to turn the standard version of The Witcher into the Enhanced Edition. Because of the many technical improvements and additional content (audio files of all language versions, new adventures, D’jinni editor, etc.), we realize that this will likely be a rather large file to download. That’s why we’ve come up with the idea to meet our players’ needs halfway and preparee something special for people who don’t want to download it from the internet.

The idea is a sort of “Upgrade Version” that would allow them to enjoy all the wonders of the Enhanced Edition without buying another copy of the game.

When we make decisions, we always take into consideration the opinions of our fans, and that’s why we would like to ask you about one thing. Would you be interested in buying this set, if it were available in shops?

This is a really great idea, I'd probably buy both for the hell of it too A games collection is a collection after all!

for me in singapore i paid 60SGD for the game (ard 30euros i think back in '07) i was contemplating selling off the game and buying a new enhanced copy. however, since it was announced that those that bought the original need not worry as we could download any future updates for free,  i wanted to wait to see how would we receive all the other extras that are coming with the enhanced edition like the map, cd etc besides the downloadable updates.

now that i realise that the only way to get these extras are from a seperate pack as you are suggesting in the poll, i feel that 15 euros , personally, is quite a bit. taht converts to 30SGD which is 50% of the retail price. personally i think any where between (5-8 euros would be enough) however im no marketer or publisher so i dont know the cost of producing those. personally try to minimize any form of intended profit from the extras for the users who want to buy it.

think about it, those folks that are gonna buy this are the guys who have been waiting almost 10 months for these extras....we are the guys who hung in there and rooted for the enhanced edition.

(on a side note, how abt minimizing the price of this suggested 'extras box' that upgrades the original edition and instead increasing the price of the enhanced edition a little higher than retail to cover the additional cost to print these 'normal to enhanced edition upgrade packs" ? )

Hmm, is there supposed to be a poll here? In any case, that is a very generous offer to the community and I'm quite certain that many will be delighted to take advantage of it. Personally, I'll be buying the full EE with the goodies. Less hassle with the DVDs and other things.

no no. the EE is at standard retail price from what i understand. its the additional content pack for those who already have the '07 edition of the game that is going for 14,99. not the WHOLE EE of course! lulz

However, though I have the old Witcher version I have still also ordered myself the new version EE Version, simply because of the collector's value! and then I must not download I so many patches

what poll? and $30 is too steep. $10 is even asking a bit much as i've already paid $60. i would pay up to $15 dollars for it.

BUT IT BETTER NOT HAVE ALL THESE GOD DAMNED SECURITY BUGS LIKE THE CURRENT EDITION HAS!

i clicked "i don't know yet" as i'm hoping you're to price it at $15 and not the equivilant of 15 euros in the US.
