WARSAW, February 15th, Warsaw Business Journal has awarded CD Projekt RED with a prestigious award in the "International Success Story 2007" category in recognition of our efforts to introduce Poland as a player in the international games industry. Naturally, we were recognized as a result of The Witcher’s success. The "International Success Story 2007" award is one of four prestigious awards given this year by the WBJ editorial staff. WBJ awards are given to extraordinary Polish companies, which stand out due to their actions, independent of the industry from which they stem. The award on a behalf of the company has been received by CD Projekt's Managing Director, Michał Kiciński.
"We are proud of this award and we feel very appreciated," said Michał Kiciński. "This award is all the more important for us as it stems from outside of the videogames industry. It means that our success has been significant enough that it is clearly noticeable by non-industry magazines. It is a determinant of the success attained by The Witcher in Poland and internationally, after selling more than 600 000 copies worldwide in only 3 months since release. This award makes us confident that we are going in the right direction. What is more, The Witcher is only our debut and we believe that we can achieve much more; we are just beginning to spread our wings"
Warsaw Business Journal is an English-language weekly magazine about business, politics and economy in Poland. WBJ was founded in 1994 and since that time became the first source of information for foreigners who are interested in Polish market.
