A sign of things to come – new site design!

If you came here today and thought, “hmmm… am I going totally insane or does something like different?” you can probably relax… you may very well be crazy, but things actually have changed here at thewitcher.com! We’ve given the community site a bit of an overhaul to prepare for the launch of The Witcher Enhanced Edition, allowing you to find a bit more info about the upcoming version; it’s just a little over a month away, so we thought you might want to actually know about it!

The Witcher Enhanced Edition - CDPR asks community!

The launch of The Witcher: Enhanced Edition is coming in September, and part of that event is the release of the new retail version, with a ton of additional features and elements, that will take place of standard game version.

We remember the promise we made, so of course, anyone who has registered a copy of the game will be able to download a free update to turn the standard version of The Witcher into the Enhanced Edition. Because of the many technical improvements and additional content (audio files of all language versions, new adventures, D’jinni editor, etc.), we realize that this will likely be a rather large file to download. That’s why we’ve come up with the idea to meet our players’ needs halfway and preparee something special for people who don’t want to download it from the internet.

The idea is a sort of “Upgrade Version” that would allow them to enjoy all the wonders of the Enhanced Edition without buying another copy of the game.

When we make decisions, we always take into consideration the opinions of our fans, and that’s why we would like to ask you about one thing. Would you be interested in buying this set, if it were available in shops?

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Takes E3 By Storm

Tomasz Gop, Senior Producer at CD Projekt RED, recently took time out of his busy schedule to fly to sunny Los Angeles for the E3 Media & Business Summit, where he spent three days demoing The Witcher: Enhanced Edition to journalists from around the world. Writers loved the effort we’ve put into the game, and those who were very familiar with The Witcher were even more excited about the improvements. Check out previews based on the E3 demo.

We are happy that our active support of community activities and initiatives resulted in creation of new The Witcher fansites!
Here we present some of them:

It's not only a website which gathers fans of The Witcher but also a platform of communication for modders translating The Witcher into Japanese – JPMOD! The leader of the group is Ethelion, an astonishingly creative fan of The Witcher and… Polish delicasies (especially Bigos – traditional dish made from sauerkraut stew with meat)

This is our diplomatic post in Central Asia. The vigilant eyes and ears of Rais Salihov are monitoring every Witchery action. On Witcher.ucoz.kz something's going on every day. And soon – thanks to the great spirit of its Admins it will be enriched with absolutely exclusive materials.

Bulgaria... it's not only wine and beaches! Concerted efforts of members and fans in a team lead by Kaloyan Kolev are creating an incredibly expanded website about the Witcher universe around the world… and that's not all! Supposedly they have an ace up their sleeve and the persistence worthy of an adept from a Witcher school.

Ernest Sawyer – this is a worthy name to remember. He's a father of a Witcher fan site for less than two months which is evolving with dizzying speed. Not only does it have an original layout and incredibly well-done galleries which are making thewithcer.sk distinguished fans smile – pretty soon Slovakian gamers will get articles, stories and even poetry!
